All Workshops start at 10am and end at 5pm, with 45 minutes for  lunch. Tea and coffee are available all day! We provide individual workstations, with seating and power. If on a practical course, Please bring your own tools etc. Courses are held in the Manor Arms Hotel, (which also offers discounted accommodation for our attendees.) 


Location:
All our workshops are held in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside, within easy reach of the M5, only 45 minutes from Birmingham or Bristol, The area has a choice of local hotels or self catering accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets. (Please mention DCC Supplies when booking, for discount.) Any of the workshops listed below can be arranged depending on your requirements, and our regular workshops, with dates are published below <here>

 

Attractions: The Severn Valley railway is only 20 minutes away by car, and only an hour and a half will take you to the Great little trains of Wales!
On certain Sundays in the summer, weekending attendees are able to attend (F.O.C.) a steaming at our local 7Ό“ narrow gauge railway. 
We have the Bell Inn (many time winner of
Midlands CAMRA pub of the year) less than 10 minutes away, and miles of unspoiled countryside with a variety of walking or riding in the Abberley hills or the Wyre forest (with visitor centre). 
We are 15 minutes from the West Midlands safari park, and many other attractions. Worcester, or Merry Hill would be great shopping destinations for a non-modelling partner:

DCC Decoder Fitting and Programming. £65.00

A Highly practical day intended for those who have never fitted a decoder, but would like to try, and also for those who have a little experience, and would like to clarify a few points.  Not as in depth as the manufactures specific courses, as we need to cover all makes of decoder here, and the content will focus on the decoder, though we welcome questions on any other aspect of DCC!

Designing for DCC  £65.00

–  A FULL 1 day introductory workshop on choosing and building a DCC layout:  10am - 5.00 PM

 This course is presumes no knowledge of DCC, and provides an introduction, discusses DCC layout design and conversion, and assists in choosing a DCC system:

Advanced Decoder Programming. £65.00

-    A 1 day, hands-on fitting session for both DCC and conventional lighting upgrades.

-         Maximum of 10 attendees per workshop for best instructor ratios.

-         This workshop, is by its nature an advanced course,  we recommend that you are comfortable with decoder installation, and basic concepts of CV programming.

- Although this is a theoretical course, based on NMRA decoder standard CV's, and is not therefore aimed at any specific command station,  please feel free to bring a decoder equipped loco, and your command station if you wish to discuss specific issues, .

Lighting modification & upgrade Workshop  £65.00

-          A 1 day, hands-on fitting session for both DCC and conventional lighting upgrades.

-          Maximum of 10 attendees per workshop for best instructor ratios.

-          This workshop, is by its nature an advanced course, however we will assist you at each stage, and even the novice will be able to achieve the results they are looking for, we recommend that you are comfortable with decoder installation, and also basic modelling, as this course involves modifying your locomotive.

Price includes a Loksound 3.5 decoder,  a decoder test board and sound samples on CD.

09:30 to 17:30 including lunch and refreshments.

Each participant takes away a talking project, a sound project (Steam, Diesel or Electric) to practice on at home, and a programmed Loksound decoder. Plus a full set of notes.
